A strong North Easterly greeted the Broulee runners for our final 4.30pm time slot, this made it very difficult to even come close to achieving a personal best for most, however Erin and Julianne Domeny and Alba Van Der Meulen all improved.

With the start of the school holidays we welcomed a few runners that we don't see regularly due to other after school commitments throughout the year and some new faces that were in the area on holidays.

Pictured are Xavier and Alice O'Brien who had their first start to the group.

With the start of daylight saving this weekend we will revert to our 5pm starting time next Wednesday. See you all then.

Great conditions for exercise attracted 39 starters to this evening’s event, which will be the second last before daylight saving kicks in and we move to a 5 o’clock start.

We welcomed back Gary Matthews and Debbie Redman after a long absence.
Debbie jumped in with both feet and tackled the 5 kilometres and she promises to improve with her next start.

Personal best times were recorded by Selby Johnston, Michelle McPherson and Julianne Domeny. Julianne continues to improve in the 5 kilometres and following on from her huge PB in the Moruya Town to Surf.

Andrew McPherson fresh from his appearance in the Blackmores Sydney marathon held last Sunday, ran with his family this evening. It was his first marathon and he finished with an excellent time of 3 hours and 23 minutes, he was placed in 342th position out of a field on 3,562 runners. Andrew has been a regular with the group since 11 February 2008 and has 143 runs to his credit. It is an activity for the family with mother Michelle, Nina and Declan all having more than 40 runs. Andrew commenced his preparation 20 weeks ago and this consisted of long bike rides and running. Being a family man, this entailed getting up very early for his runs and one of these was the full marathon distance of 42 kilometres. Although, pleased with his performance he is not sure if there will be another attempt. (Pictured are the McPherson family).

See you all next week at 4.30pm.

Hot temperature and strong winds did not stop 33 people from starting in this evening’s Broulee run/walk.

The start was very congested with lots of people coming to the Mossy Point Headland to watch the smoke billowing from the Dunn’s Creek fire.

We welcomed Sophia and Lulu Lozi, Jackie and Jade Berry to their first run.

Personal best times were a struggle in the fierce winds.  Nevertheless, Anthony Miles managed to lower his time in the 5 kilometres by 7 seconds.

Morgan Pettit (pictured) was awarded his 30-run shirt this evening.  He started with the group at the beginning of February this year and since that time he has reduced his 5-kilometre time by more than 5 minutes.

Morgan was part of the Broulee runners winning team in the Moruya Town to Surf fun run held last Sunday.  Other members of the team were Gary Ashton, Riley and Daniel Beby.  A large contingent of the group participated (pictured) in this event and all had high praise for the professional manner in which it was conducted.

See you all next week at 4.30pm.
