Hot temperature and strong winds did not stop 33 people from starting in this evening’s Broulee run/walk.
The start was very congested with lots of people coming to the Mossy Point Headland to watch the smoke billowing from the Dunn’s Creek fire.
We welcomed Sophia and Lulu Lozi, Jackie and Jade Berry to their first run.
Personal best times were a struggle in the fierce winds. Nevertheless, Anthony Miles managed to lower his time in the 5 kilometres by 7 seconds.
Morgan Pettit (pictured) was awarded his 30-run shirt this evening. He started with the group at the beginning of February this year and since that time he has reduced his 5-kilometre time by more than 5 minutes.
Morgan was part of the Broulee runners winning team in the Moruya Town to Surf fun run held last Sunday. Other members of the team were Gary Ashton, Riley and Daniel Beby. A large contingent of the group participated (pictured) in this event and all had high praise for the professional manner in which it was conducted.
See you all next week at 4.30pm.
