The cool conditions kept the numbers down this evening.  Nevertheless 49 starters braved the conditions and 9 personal best times were recorded.

We welcomed Rafael Dyason and Anthony, Audrey and Regina Knobel (pictured) to their first run.

The most outstanding performance came from Stephanie Lunn, who reduced her 2 kilometre time by 80 seconds
.
She is undergoing intensive coaching from her mother in preparation for a 1500 metres track race in Cooma.  She is representing Moruya High at this carnival.

Well done to you all, see you next Wednesday at 4.30pm.

A cool wind did not deter the 62 starters in this evening’s run as there were 11 personal best times.

The most notable is that of Carissa Morgan, our Special Olympics representative.  Under the guidance of her father Steve she trimmed 13 seconds from her previous best.
Josh Connaughton (pictured) down visiting his family from Canberra also blitzed his previous  time by 49 seconds.

Bridget Whipp was welcomed and she enjoyed the experience, although she went a little further than required.  Helen and John Hall from Canberra had their first visit to our event.

Roz Hayward and Klaye Van Weerdenburg (pictured) received their 30 run shirts this evening.

Congratulations goes to Matt Lambert, who with 125 Broulee runs under his belt, did a huge Personal Best time in the Sydney Half Marathon last Sunday.

Our wonderful sponsors from the Tomakin Club are excited to announce a new playground which begins construction on Monday with the completion date set for 10 June. Will keep you posted on updates over the coming weeks.

Good luck to all runners participating in ongoing school cross countries over the next week. See you all next Wednesday at 4.30pm.

Good weather attracted 71 starters to this evening’s run.

We welcomed 8 new people to experience the event.  The most notable was Chris Weeks (pictured) from New Zealand, who is visiting relatives in the district.

The slight improvements in access to the new bridge over Candlagan Creek helped some runners improve their times as there were15 personal best times.

After a long absence of almost 2 years Takiya Norris (pictured) was welcomed back and to her surprise it was her 30th run and she collected her 30 run shirt.

See you all next week at 4.30pm.

4 May 2016

This evening was great for running and out of the 64 starters there were 14 personal best times.

We welcomed Maureen and Paul Searson and Lily McCloud to their first run.

Outstanding young athletes Jaylah Hancock-Cameron and Rhys Flood showed the benefit of their intensive coaching program over the last month by a specialist distance running coach. Jaylah set a new record for the women over the 3.5 kilometres.  Rhys was not far from his best.  Both of their previous times were recorded before they had to run extra distance around the bridge construction site.

Riley Beby was awarded his thirty run shirt he is the third member of the family to achieve this taget. Riley is pictured with his family Mum Michelle, Dad Daniel, brother Mitchell and sister Ashlee who fell asleep on her mums back during the walk.

A number of Broulee Runners are planning to participate in the Batemans Bay first Park Run this Saturday 7 May. The run is a free run meet at 7.45am to start at 8am. Everyone is welcome you can run or walk the 5km course. For more information visit the Batemans bay Facebook page or the park run website.

See you all next Wednesday at 4.30pm.
