This evening the rain stayed away, and we had 15 actual runners to stay dry and avoid the mud.  We celebrated Janelle Morgan 100th run.  Janelle started back in September 2014 and was accompanied by Husband Steve and daughter Carissa.  Between them they have notched up 384 runs and if you throw in sons Lucas and Mitch 11 runs it is getting very significant.

We need to celebrate the achievements of the younger Broulee runners, who put in excellent performances at district cross country championships whilst representing their schools.  The list is not conclusive but features some of these local athletes.  These that come to our notice are Caitlan Seidel, Sophie and Alexis Carver, Poppy Melgaard, Rosie McPartland, Tino Lopresti, Tom Ireson and Kirra Pendlebury.  We look forward to hearing of their results and others at the state Cross Country Championship.

Special thanks go to Tori Hennig, who filled in as our timer this evening.

The run is still on course B and looks like it will be there until there is major improvements to the ‘knotty hill.’  The bog is still around at the bottom and is likely to stay during winter.

The cold ‘August Winds’ have arrived early and with local soccer training, the numbers were down. Also, there are a number of local athletes competing in Nowra this Friday and we look forward to seeing their results.

We welcomed young runners in Aiden Johnston and Finn Smart. Finn had his first run with the group and Aiden recorded his 50th run.

Janelle Morgan recorded her 99th run with the group with a personal best time in 3 kilometres. She threatens to attack the 4 kilometres at her 100th run.

Tonight, we were able to miss the rain.  However, once again the wet conditions of the last few days made every starter appreciate the new course.

We celebrated the 30th run of Keira Atkin and Julie Amphlett.  Each have a special story about their participation in the event.  Keira’s family of mum and dad together with sister Mia are regulars at our run.   Keira represented her school in regional Cross Country event over 3 kilometres in Canberra where she finished 2nd overall.  She will now represent the district in Sydney.

Julie had a debilating problem with her feet, and she could barely walk.  It was through determination and hard work that she is now able to walk freely.  Not content with doing that she pushed herself further has run 60 Batemans Bay Park runs over 5 kilometres to her credit. She decided to come and try the Broulee run and now has clocked up 30 runs.

We welcomed the Bieder family to our run.  They are formally from Sydney and are travelling the country looking to find the perfect spot to live.  They like the look of our district.

The rain in Broulee will not go away!  However, 24 people came to experience the safer flatter track.  Among them was a pram and some dogs.  The flat concrete course lends itself to everyone whether young or old.  It is a very fast course and Daniel Beby set the mark for the 4-kilometre with a time of 13.46.

There were 2 personal best times in the 3 kilometres with Meg Edenborough improving by 45 seconds and David McCann improved by 27 seconds.  Matt Edenborough was impressive pushing baby Jo in a pram for a time of 15.30 in the 4-kilometres.

It was a great night for the Beby family with Ashlee recording her 100th run.  She appeared on the scene as an infant in March 2016.  Since that time the Family has clocked up 636 runs between them
