The heat was on for this evening’s run with a temperature in the mid-twenties.  This put pressure on the 36 starters.  We welcomed back Dan Lloyd-Jones after a long absence, and he showed that he is still in good form with a time of 14.32 over the 4 Kilometre distance.

We welcomed Robert Nancarrow to his first run with the group.  Personal best times in the 2 kilometres were recorded by Anthony Knobel, Chris Van Der Sanden and by Lisa Robbins.  It was an outstanding effort by Lisa as she on the comeback trail whilst recovering from a serious foot injury.

Mild conditions helped the 32 runners enjoy the event this evening.  We welcomed the Norgate/Gunn family to their first run with the group.  We also welcomed back the Knobel family.  Two of the starters were 4-year old’s Lottie Knobel and Harvey Gunn.  The event is for the very young and very senior citizens.

A very welcome runner was Brendan Gorzalki, whose last appearance was on 12 November 2014 when he ran a time of 20.36 in the 5 kilometres.  It is hoped that his next run will be sooner.

Congratulations to Barry King, who recorded a personal best time in the 4-kilometres.

Day light saving is with us, if only the sun would help enjoy the experience.  Once again, we are in the midst of a wet week.  Nevertheless, the keen runners want to get out on the track and test themselves.  This was the case with Mary Ann Kulh, who came along with her two children and two of their friends.  10-year-old Thu recorded an excellent time of 17.51 in the four kilometres.  The other three ran strongly in the cold wet conditions.  Andrew McPherson, the only local to run, recorded a personal best time in the 4-kilometres.

We were fortunate to have virtual runners, who ventured out during the day to submit times.  We like to accept virtual times so that those who cannot make the Wednesday start of 5 PM can be part of the Broulee Runners scene.

Broulee Runners distinguished themselves over last weekend in big events.  Michael Lambert ran the Melbourne Marathon in 4 hours 20 minutes, Matt Lambert ran the half-Marathon in 91 minutes and Bernie ran the 10 kilometres in 58.35 minutes.  Karen Harding-Smith did the 5 kilometres Fun Run at Reboot Bermagui in a time of 23.46 minutes.
