Much cooler conditions attracted 72 starters for this evening’s event.  We continue to attract new people to join the run and we welcomed four medical students, who are on placement to the district.  They are Sarah Armstrong, Cooper Pearce, Abby Connor, and Olivia Taifalos.  We have welcomed many of these medical students in the past and only recently Emily Tugwell obtained her 30-run shirt before returning to Canberra to further her studies.

 

There were 10 personal best times.  In the 2-kilometres Aengus Delaney, Evie Lowe, Olivia and Sally Thiem, Remy Shannon, Charlotte Theim and Jean Simmons all improved.

 

In the 3-kilometres Stephen Phipps did a PB.  In the 4-kilometres Julianne Domeny recorded a PB as did Meg Edenborough.  Meg has consistently improved each week over this distance.

 

It was a special night for Aengus Delaney and Marcus Mackay who received their 30-run shirts.  Both are excellent distance runners as is evident by Aengus 2-second improvement over the 2-kilometre distance.

This evening there were 72 starters in the run/walk.  The conditions were excellent with 16 personal best times and one new record.

 

Lilly McIntosh, who recently returned to the district, is the current holder of 3-kilometre record.  She marked her return to the run by setting a new 2-kilometre record.  She reduced the time held by Audrey Knobel by 30 seconds.

 

In the 2-kilometres PBs were set by Lilly McIntosh, Benji Mackay, Candice Delaney, Lotte Knobel, Katie Moon, Otis Remling, Aaron Atteridge, Harry Mackay, Hayley Mackay, and Julie Davis.

 

In the 3-kilometres PBs were recorded by Kelsey Pye, Callan Lee, and Steve Phipps.  In the 4-kilometres PBs were recorded by Dave Hosking, Paige Connaughton, and Meg Edenborough.

 

Tonight, we celebrated the 100^th run of John Hicks. He first burst on the scene in September 2014.  He and his wife Pauline are great supporters of the run and help regularly.  Pauline sits with Robyn Kennedy doing the important job of recording the finishers.

 

Congratulations to the many Broulee Runners who competed in the Triathlon last Saturday and the various runs in the extreme heat last Sunday.
