A big thank you to David McCann, Ross Hayward and Richard Fisher for their excellent management of this week's event. It is wonderful to see some of our regulars throw their hand up to help time and record the event when it is needed and is one of the reasons the club is a success and a pleasure to be a part of.

See you all next week at 5pm.

Great temperature and strong North Easterly wind greeted the 47starters in this evening Broulee Runners/Walkers event.

We welcomed four new starters to the event and all contested the 2 kilometres event.  They were Julie Davis, Milly Shanahan, Jillian Edwards and Beverly Brazel.

Given the strength of the wind it is remarkable that eight people recorded personal best times.  In the 2 kilometres the improvers were Poppy and Luke Mitchell, Nathan and Nancy Costin, Barbara Evans and Trish Eccles. In the 5 kilometres the improvers were Gary Matthews and Louise Cox.

Since her return from England, Louise Cox has been in excellent form.  She recorded personal best times in the last two Broulee runs.  She showed her consistency with a PB in the Park Run last Saturday. All of these runs are over the 5-kilometre distance.

Regina Knobel (pictured with daughter Audrey) received her 30-run shirt this evening and she shared the excitement with her young daughter, who got hers last week.

See you next week at 5pm.

Strong northly winds did not stop the 53 starters in this evening’s Broulee run/walk.  Each had to bend their backs on the return journey to be able to keep moving forward.
Personal best times were hard to achieve.  Nevertheless, Katie Patyus, Audrey Knobel and Nancy Costin improved their 2 kilometres times.  Anthony Miles continues to impress in the 5 kilometres and Louise Cox returning from her lengthy stay in the North of England reduced her time by 61 seconds in the 5 kilometres.

Dave Connaughton, with only a week since his hernia Operation, managed to run and walk the 5-kilometre distance in 32.47 minutes.  David is the Iron Man of the group having completed 389 runs out of the 520 runs held since the very beginning.  All of his appearances have been over the 5-kilometres distance.

This evening 4-year-old Audrey Knobel received her 30-run shirt.  We also welcomed Trish Eccles and Barb Evans, two very active senior citizens.  This demonstrates the cross section of people who come to enjoy the friendship and fun of this community event.

See you all next week at 5pm.

The first run in day light saving time attracted 39 starters in Wednesday evening’s Broulee Runners event.

With ideal conditions Louie Hayward from Sydney and Sean, Nathan and Nancy Costin recorded personal best times in the 2 kilometres.  Keiran Louttit improved in the 3.5 kilometres and Anthony Miles bettered his time in the 5 kilometres.

We welcomed Rob Kidd to his first run.  He was very impressive in the 5 kilometres with a time of 21.02.  Once he gets to know the course, it is expected that he will go close to breaking the illusive 20-minute mark. Only 24 runners have broken this mark in the 10 years of the event.

See you all next week at 5pm.
