30 September 2015

This evening we had 56 starters in the event.  The conditions were perfect for running and there were 14 personal best times recorded.

A number of visitors on holidays made return appearances in the event.

The courses were longer with the changes to the construction of the new Candalagan Bridge.  A temporary footbridge on the western side means runners had to run an obstacle course to get back on track.

This evening was special for the Connaughton family as father David completed his 300 run and daughter Paige completed her 200 run.

David’s first run was on 27 February 2008 and all of his runs are over the 5 kilometres course.  Paige’s first run was on the same day and she has a mixture of 3.5 and 5 kilometres runs.  Mother Deb also started then and she has 175 runs, so she will need to lift her game to catch up.
