This is week 16 of our Run Isolated Broulee and it is mid-winter and the conditions certainly reflect the time of the year. It is timely to reflect on the wonderful athletes that have participated in our event and have done the district proud on the international stage. Jaylah Hancock-Cameron (25 runs) participated in the youth Olympics, Matt Johnsen (58 runs) participated in the World University Cross Country Championships, Dan Lloyd-Jones (210 runs) participated in the World Sprint Triathlon Championships and Daniel Beby (155 runs) participated in the Hawaiian Ironman.
Moreover, it has given others the chance to develop friendships. Some have used this event as an opportunity further their interest in running and build training groups to participate in medium to ultra-distance running events. Those that spring to mind are Morgan Pettit (90 Broulee runs), Anthony Miles (83), Lauren Evans (38), Nev Madden (182) and Lisa Martini (102).
