Heavy soaking rain reduced the numbers to 11 dedicated runners, who contested the 3.5 and 5 kilometres.  What the event lacked in numbers was made up by the class of the runners.  The track was slippery and the path had ankle deep water, so it was a real test of the toughness of each competitor.  Although, there were only 2 personal best times everyone performed with distinction with near best times.

Max Hadley ran a PB of 16.20 in the 3.5 kilometres and Christian Proksch ran 23.33 to record his best time in the 5 kilometres.  Christian is training hard in the Matt Johnsen camp to contest the 10 kilometres at the Canberra Times running Festival in April.

Lauren Evans backed up her second placing in the Crackenback Half Marathon last weekend, where she run an excellent time of 1 hour and 56 minutes. For good measure she talked her father into running the event and he managed first in his age group. Another high achiever was 10-year-old Taylor Traecey, who ran an excellent time in the 3.5 kilometres.

Taylor Traecey 15.34
