5 June 2019

As the winter wind and cold starts to bite many regulars considered sitting in front of a warm fire more attractive than braving the conditions at this evening’s Broulee Run/walk.

31 people of all ages and abilities tested themselves over the three distances.  In the 2 kilometres the front runners Tino Lopresti and Mitchell Beby showed their class in recording personal best times and putting a 3 minutes gap over the 3rd place runner.

In the 3.5 kilometres Regina Knobel and Vicki Whitter recorded personal best times.  This is Vicki 3rd personal best time in a row.

The star of the night was Andrew McPherson, who recorded his 200th run.  Andrew started at a modest level recording a time of 27.20 in his first 5 kilometres on 26 February 2014.  Since then he has recorded times of 7.03 in the 2 kilometres, 13.35 in the 3.5 and 20.03 in the 5 kilometres.  He has competed in numerous other longer distance endurance events with distinction.  His wife Michelle and children Declan and Nina are regular starters and they have a combined total of 194 starts between them.
