Hosking Family covers 83 km

In the Great Forest Marathon Events in New Zealand.  Congratulations!

Here is Dave's race report:

With the three kids chipping in with 5 km each, David and Sue ran well finishing the marathon and half marathon respectively. David ran the 5km also (completely outpaced by Anna at the end) to complete 83 km for the family. On an undulating off road course Sue broke 2 hours and completed the half in a PB 1:57 and David finished well under 3 hours in 2:51 for third place overall. The Great Forest Events is a festival of running/walking on the lower North Island of New Zealand. Sited in the Waiterere forest near Levin the course wound its way through pine trees and native tree ferns. The marathon is described as the Best Off Road marathon in New Zealand and it was absolutely spectacular. Not easy, the course is not flat but is run on dirt and pine needle covered (and sometimes sand) forest trails. It was well organized and is thoroughly recommended for anyone touring New Zealand in April in the future.
